Kenya records 69 new Covid-19 cases

Kenya on Thursday recorded 69 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 6,352 tested in the last 24 hours.

This translates to 1.1% positivity rate.

From the cases, 54 are Kenyans and 15 are foreigners.

The youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 94 years.

"Total confirmed positive cases are now 322,614 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,316,646," Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement.

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 19, Nakuru 15, Trans Nzoia 10, Nandi 4, Busia 3, Mombasa 3, Kwale 2, Machakos 2, Makueni 2, Uasin Gishu 2, Nyandarua 1, Siaya 1, West Pokot 1, Bungoma 1, Garissa 1, Kericho 1 and Kisii 1.

Some 19 patients recovered from the disease during the period, taking total recoveries to 302,937.

"Today no death has been reported therefore the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,633," Kagwe added.

Vaccination

As of February 16, a total of 15,911,717 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 7,588,728 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated are 7,245,768.
