Kenya records 95 new COVID-19 cases, 97 recoveries

Kenya has confirmed 95 new cases of coronavirus after 1, 096 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced on Monday.

This now takes the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 2, 862.

Ninety two of the cases are Kenyans and three are foreigners.

Fifty seven are males and 38 are females.

The new cases are between age one and 72 years.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi 13, Mombasa 56, Busia 10, Kajiado 6, Nyeri 3, Kilifi 3, Kitui 1, Kwale 1 and Marsabit 1.

"On a positive, we have dischrged a record 97 patients. Our total recoveries now stands at 849," Rashid said.

We have, however, lost one more patient taking total fatalities in the country to 85, Rashid added.
