Kisumu MCA arrested over demos released
Kisumu's Milimani Ward MCA Seth Kanga arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been released.
Kanga was released on a bond of Ksh30,000. Police told him that he will be informed when to report next to the station and when to be arraigned in court.
"They accused me of obstruction, destruction and malicious damage to property," he told the press after he was released.
He thanked Kisumu Central MP Dr Joshua Oron and colleague MCAs for helping him to quickly raise the bond.
This came as the police declared that they will uphold measures to deter them through retribution and punishment through the justice and legal system.
Kisumu County Commissioner Hassan Alasow Hassan said those who want to picket must uphold the rule of law and avoid it in Kisumu.
