Officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service(KWS) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a poaching ex-convict with 200kg of illegal game meat in Kajiado County.

According to a report by the Kenya News Agency, Morris Musyoka was arrested on Thursday with the game meat loaded on a motorcycle on Isara-Sultan Hamud road.

In 2019, Musyoka had been arrested, convicted of trafficking game meat and trophies by a Loitokitok court, and sentenced to one year in prison.

However, Musyoka never completed his term for he was released in a prison de-congestion exercise following the COVID-19 pandemic. Musyoka has since been on the detectives' radar. He is set to be arraigned on Monday.
