Mombasa court summons 11 UK citizens over t*********n claims
A Mombasa court has summoned 11 United Kingdom nationals, who are being sought by police over tax evasion claims.
Mombasa Chief magistrate Ednah Nyaloti gave the orders after KRA prosecutor Moses Adoo requested the court to issue summons against the accused, who include directors of Security Solutions Limited.
The directors include Philippe Storm, George Zarya, Salul Harshad, Ludovic Gunnar, Sunir Maheskumar, Anish Maheshkumar and Frieddrich Gotz.
Nyaloti ordered that the suspects appear in court on August 23. “If they fail to appear, police can arrest the suspects and produce them before the plea court,” she said.
One of the directors, Aaron John Kitchener, who appeared before the court, pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to submit a tax return by the due date contrary to section 94 (1) of the Tax Procedures Act, 2015.
The court released him on a Kenyan surety bond of Sh3 million and ordered him to deposit his passport with the court.The matter will be mentioned on August 23.
