‘Ruto legally owns the land’ – Naivasha MP defends President over disputed Ndabibi land
Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Kihara has thrown her weight behind President William Ruto over controversial Ndabibi land.
Speaking in a public gathering, the MP addressed grabbing allegations raised by members of her constituency about the contested 5000-acre parcel of Ndabibi land claiming that that the owner had indeed sold it to President Ruto.
"Can we stop the owner from selling the land to the President? It has been proven that this land belongs to Kipkulei, let him sell it to whoever he wants. We followed up on that case; we know he had a problem which is why he needed to sell the land," Kihara asserted.
Expressing disdain for what she described as misinformation propagated by certain individuals, Kihara urged aggrieved parties to approach her directly rather than resorting to public accusations.
"I've seen someone lying on TV, laying claims and inciting people instead of coming to me. If there is any of you that claims the President took your land, come to me and I will take you to him to claim your land," she added emphatically.
Furthermore, Kihara assured constituents that she had already taken steps to address issues of land ownership and resettlement with the President directly.
"Surely, you have no respect for the President. I have the list of evictees and squatters, and I gave it to the President. For that matter, the issue is in the office of the president," she affirmed

19 individuals appeared in Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, facing charges of trespassing on Ruto's farm.
They were arrested on March 1 in Gathondia Village, Naivasha, for allegedly damaging a fence belonging to Eburru Hills Farm Limited. It's reported they maliciously damaged the farm's fence on February 29, resulting in substantial damage.
During the court proceedings, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations requested 14-day detention for the suspects to conclude their investigation, citing community outrage and concerns over the suspects' potential to re-offend.
However, their lawyer argued against the application, alleging unfair treatment and criticizing the choice of court jurisdiction.
Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe ordered the suspects to be held at Langata police station until when he would decide on their detention.
