Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has asked Christians not to abuse the freedom of worship by not observing all the guidelines from the Health Ministry on coronavirus.

He said Coronavirus being a communicable disease can only be contained through personal responsibility and discipline.

"My advice to the church not to abuse the freedom of worship by breaking MOH and the guidelines towards combating the spread of Coronavirus," he said.

He reminded the congregation to seek God's guidance, and quoted Mathew 7:7; Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you(NIV).

Speaking at St. Kizito Catholic Church in Matisi, the legislator who is also the Catholic MPs chairman said the country was at a crossing edge in the life history of the planet Earth where mankind is faced with chronic pandemics which medics haven't had an answer for.

Kwanza MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi who accompanied him told Christians to observe all guidelines, and warned that the disease which is spreading rapidly need not be assumed by anyone.

''My friend Mutahi Kagwe has on several occasions reminded us not to treat this disease normally so that it doesn't treat us abnormally. My call to congregants here and all over the country is to keep a safe distance, sanitize and properly wear face masks,'' he said.

Quoting from Nehemiah 2:17, Wanyonyi said Kenyans of all walks of life needed prayer more than they have had for the Lord to rebuild the country after the devastating ruins caused by the coronavirus which has shattered the economy.
