Isaac Mwaura heaps praise on Anyang’ Nyong’o for being his political mentor
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has showered praise upon Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, crediting him as his political mentor.
In a post on his X account, Mwaura recounted how Nyong'o extended a guiding hand to him when he was just 24 years old, fresh out of campus.
"My political mentor who took and held my hand as a young 24-year-old, straight from campus. He gave me a platform, confidence and tasks that made others take notice of me," Mwaura expressed.
The spokesperson talked of his admiration for Governor Nyong'o from his teenage years, even going so far as to have a newspaper cutting featuring the politician.
"A man that I admired from afar in my teenage. I had posted a photo of him from a newspaper cutting. I loved his brains and myth had it that he had 7 degrees," he said.

He disclosed that he met the governor through his daughter Oscar Award Winning actress Lupita Nyong'o.
He further revealed that he and Lupita collaborated in a movie dubbed 'In My Genes' where he portrayed an aspiring politician alongside the Academy-winning actress.
"This is how I joined ODM as my first political party."
"I met him on a Wednesday evening, through his now famous daughter Lupita Nyong’o, and on Thursday morning, I met all the big guns in today’s politics, in one room," Mwaura reminisced.
Adding;
"The first ever press statement on behalf of a coalition of parties CORD, he gave me to read," Mwaura acknowledged noting the role Nyong'o played in his political journey.
"He gave me to read. Today, I do for the whole of government as the government spokesman. I value and cherish our friendship, father to son relationship. It’s been a journey Prof. Thank you very much Professor ‘Prof’ Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, the two-term’s governor of Kisumu, a two-time minister, MP and Senator for 25 years. A great man indeed."
