Two people perish in Webuye road crash
Two people died on the spot after a lorry lost control on Webuye -Eldoret highway and rammed into a boda boda shed where they were sheltering from rains.
The accident, which occurred at Webuye junction, killed two women.
Some boda boda riders, who were also in the shed, took off after sensing that the lorry which was heading towards Eldoret had lost control leaving behind the two women and survivor who was trapped under the wheels.
Area OCPD Valeria Opore said they managed to arrest the driver who run away from the scene.
"I want to advise the drivers to be careful when using this road especially this time of heavy rains in the area," said Opore.
The bodies were taken to Webuye hospital mortuary as the survivor whose one leg was cut off was taken to the same hospital for treatment.
