Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party has called upon all the interested members to apply for the upcoming Mahoo ward, Taita Taveta county by-election scheduled for December 16.

In a statement, the individuals should submit their applications not late than Monday, October 4.

"The National Elections Board thereby gives notice to all interested applicants be submitted in the prescribed form to the party headquarters at Chungwa House by close of Business on Monday, October 4," part of the statement reads.

This comes following the death of the former MCA Ronald Sagurani who was a Jubilee Party ward representative, and Taita Taveta County Assembly leader of the minority.

The MCA who was serving his second term in office passed away while undergoing medication at Pandya Memorial Hospital in Mombasa.

In his message of condolence to the family, the president eulogised Sagurani as a progressive grassroots politician.

“As a party, we have lost a progressive leader who was dedicated to the service of his community. His commitment to improving the lives of wananchi at the grassroots endeared him to many, propelling him to be elected twice to represent Mahoo Ward,” Uhuru said.
