Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has today invited ODM party leader Raila Odinga to their One Kenya Alliance (OKA) coalition.

Kalonzo who was speaking in an interview on Mediamax Network Limited's Emoo FM on Wednesday morning, however, gave Raila an ultimatum that he will only join the party to support his presidential bid as it is his time to lead.

"Raila is free to join OKA if he wants but if he's coming thinking I'm going to deputize him again then he should forget, it is my time to lead this country," he stated.

Kalonzo who still supports BBI insisted that Odinga should retire, after Uhuru Kenyatta, to pave way for him to lead this country.

Kalonzo's sentiments come barely days after Kakamega Governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya stated that OKA's only chance at clinching the presidency in 2022 is by joining the ODM.

Speaking during a televised interview on Sunday, October 10, Oparanya said ODM is eyeing for a running mate from Mt Kenya should Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka who has twice been Raila Odinga's running mate choose to run for president in 2022.

"Obviously, If Kalonzo supports Raila or OKA joins ODM it will be very easy for Raila to win the elections but if Kalonzo is running, then he will take away some votes from Raila," Oparanya said.

Oparanya said ODM is working on a plan to balance the votes Kalonzo will leave with should he run for president.

"As a party, we are strategising and we feel that Central Kenya will be the best balancing of votes should Kalonzo leave with his votes," he stated.
