ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna claimed on Tuesday October 12, 2021 that Kenyan youths sent him to Raila Odinga, to beseech him to lower the cost of alcohol once he assumes office in 2022.

Sifuna, who was speaking at the University of Nairobi where Raila met youths drawn from the Mount Kenya region, stated that young people have decried several restrictions by the government that have hindered them from enjoying life.

The vocal politician also stated that the Kenyan youth implored on him to beseech the ODM supremo to ensure that the nationwide curfew is removed by the government.

"Baba, young people have said because life is short they want to have a good time but the curfew has restricted them very much and they want it removed. They have also told me to ask you to lower the prices of alcohol," he said.

During the meeting, meant to popularise Raila among youth from the Central Kenya region, the former prime minister promised to accomodate the youthfolk in his cabinet.

Raila vowed that he will give youths four cabinet positions should he ascend to the presidency in 2022.
