Pomp, colour as KANU delegates endorse Gideon Moi for presidency
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has unanimously been endorsed by Kanu delegates for the presidency in the upcoming general election scheduled for August 9, 2022.
In his acceptance speech, Moi obliged to heed the call to serve, as it was the patriotic thing to do ahead of the elections.
“The voice of the people is the voice of God, and I’m obliged to heed your call to serve as it is the only patriotic thing to do,” Moi said.
Moi further said Kanu party towers above the rest given its history of providing the country with 38 years of peace and stability.
“As we look at the pivotal moments in Kenya’s history Kanu towers above the rest, Kanu was that party that provided Kenya with 38 years of peace and stability, it was the party that ensured two peaceful transitions of presidencies,” Moi said.
The Senator who also doubles up as the party chairman said it was possible to make the country great for each and every Kenyan.

In the colourful event held at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, more than 3,000 delegates also gave Moi the opportunity to go ahead to form alliances with other parties with a view of winning the upcoming polls.
The proposal was moved by party Secretary General Nick Salat and endorsed by all the delegates attending the event.
Those asked to speak at the event said Moi was a sober leader and best placed to inject fresh blood into governance and a humble dedicated leader and hence should succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The event was attended by the political leaders including ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi of Amani National Congress, and a section of Jubilee lawmakers allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp.
