Onyango's murder

Onyango was fatally shot on the night of October 13, 2022, in his rented house at Victoria Gardens Estate, Riat area within Kisumu County.

One suspect has since been arrested over his murder.

Collins Oulo Okundi, a manager at a club in Kisumu, is alleged to have confronted the slain police officer who was in the company of a lady and another male friend.

He shot Onyango twice in the head, killing him on the spot during the 4:00 am incident. The deceased's friend Donar Kajwang was also shot in the leg.

The motive of the killing remains unknown but there are speculations that the dispute was about the woman.
