Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has exuded confidence that he will clinch the Kiambu County gubernatorial seat in 2022.

Wamatangi dismissed all the other politicians aspiring to lead the county as naysayers who have nothing to show or offer in terms of development but empty rhetorics.

"Our people will vote for a person with tangible oversight and management credentials. They won't be enticed to vote for noisemakers and others who have tried and failed miserably," he said

He says that his solitary crusade for the country to share its national cake based on the one man, one vote, one shilling mantra will remain as his flagship credit which has endeared him to locals and people from populous regions.

The senator further says that he stands the best chance of being the next area governor owing to his unmatchable contacts with voters and more so in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to the People Daily Digital, the senator who is serving his second term said that through his Wamatangi Foundation, he has been providing free clean drinking and washing water, sanitisers, foodstuffs and vans to vulnerable locals across the county.

"My foundation took it upon itself to help our people combat the COVID-19 pandemic from the first month of its outbreak to date.

"The same has given me the opportunity to interact with thousands of locals thereby coming face to face with their unsurmountable plights, all which I will address conclusively once they elect me," he said.

Others eyeing the gubernatorial seat include the incumbent James Nyoro, former governors William Kabogo and Ferdinand Waititu, Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndicho and Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina.
