Shock as woman goes berserk, stabs four children and herself

Police in Kisumu County are investigating circumstances under which a woman stabbed her four children and her self.
The woman identified as Mercy Onyango, 40, allegedly committed the crime at around 5:00pm at her residential house in Awasi, Nyando Sub-County.
Confirming the matter, Kisumu County Police Commander Ranmoson Lolmodon said the five were rescued by residents after she stabbed all of them and herself.
The County boss said all of them were rushed to Awasi Mission hospital before being referred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral (JOOTRH).
"The four children have been seriously injured alongside their mother and are in critical condition. We hope they will get better soon," he said.
He also added that circumstances under which she committed the act are not known.
Onyango was reported to have used a kitchen knife to stab the minors and herself on the chest, abdomen and left arm.
The four were; Emily Akinyi, 11, Emmaculate Achieng, 9, Hesbon Okoth, 7, and Maxwell Otieno, 5, who had stabbed wounds all over their bodies.
