A suspected murderer who killed  a man after robbing him of money in Umoja estate, Nairobi County, in September 2015 and a university student last week, was shot dead yesterday.

Ihab Kariuki Salim and his accomplice, were yesterday afternoon shot dead at Kamakis along the Eastern bypass. Police say they recovered a pistol from the suspects.

Detectives from the Special Services Unit (SSU) trailed the two who were riding a unregistered motorcycle before a shoot-out ensued.

Court case

The two abandoned the motorcycle and jumped over the perimeter fence of Gichea Farm where they were shot dead and a pistol recovered.

The Heckler & Koch P30 pistol, serial number 129-025397, will be today subjected to ballistic examination.

“The two have been positively identified as part of the gang that killed a Meru University student in Umoja last Thursday.

One of the slain suspects had a robbery case before court in which he robbed and killed a man in Umoja,” a senior SSU detective told People Daily.

Salim had been charged at the Makadara Court in May 2018 with the murder of James Ndae Chege on September 19, 2015.
