There is always a next time – Jubilee’s Kariri Njama concedes defeat
Jubilee party's candidate Kariri Njama has conceded defeat in the recently concluded Kiambaa by-elections.
"I'm so grateful to the people of Kiambaa, those who voted for me and those who did not vote for me," Njama said.
Njama who remained hopeful of the future while addressing residents of Kiambaa hinted of taking another stab at the Kiambaa parliamentary seat.
"I trust there is always a next time, tutakuja kufanya kazi pamjoja ( we will work together) . I will not rest, I will continue serving the people of Kiambaa," Njama said.
On the other hand, Kiambaa constituency MP elect John Njuguna Wanjiku thanked residents of the constituency for electing him as their MP.
While addressing the press moments after the Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) awarded him the electoral certificate, Wanjiku said he was ready to do all it takes to ensure he bags the seat come 2022 general elections.
"In every contests there is a winner and a loser. We believed in God and did our best. I would like to thank the people of Kiambaa for having faith in me," Njuguna said.
The newly elected MP also thanked UDA allied MPs for the support they accorded him during the electioneering period.
"I would like to thank Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Kimani Ichungwa (Kikkuyu), Rigathi Gacahagua (Maragua), Moses Kuria (Gatundu North) among others and the Deputy President William Ruto for the support they have accorded me," Njuguna said.
