Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leadership in Trans Nzoia sub branches on Monday demanded that  the party’s top leadership should hand over the deputy minority whip slot at the National Assembly to Saboti MP Caleb Amisi in planned re-organisation.

The orange party might reclaim the position if the National Super Alliance (Nasa) stands dissolved with its constituent parties angling towards forging a new alliance with the ruling Jubilee party.

“Saboti MP Amisi  has been a key soldier of the party within this region. We call on our party leader Raila Odinga to allocate him the slot so that he can strengthen its interests in this region,” said Mr. John Otieno, a member of the steering committee.

Mr. Otieno said they are fully behind the party’s intention to borrow a leaf from the Jubilee party of ensuring rebels are relieved off key roles in house leadership to avoid sabotage.

“Just like in Jubilee, we also have leaders within the NASA alliance who are pledging their loyalty to deputy persistent William Ruto. They should give room for true soldiers,” he said.

The officials have also denounced any relationship with Ford Kenya officials in the region saying they will not put up with a requirement to play second fiddle to the Moses Wetang’ula led party
