Tusker defender Eugene Asike is wary of the threat posed by Nzoia Sugar as they prepare to clash in the FKF Premier League on Monday afternoon.

Asike anticipates a tough encounter, recognizing Nzoia's determination to secure points and avoid relegation, which adds intensity to the match.

Tusker's aim

With Tusker aiming to finish the season strongly, Asike, serving as assistant captain, emphasizes the team's need for determination and commitment to secure victory.

A win against Nzoia Sugar would keep Tusker within striking distance of the top two teams in the league standings.

"We expect a very tough game from Nzoia because it is a team that believes it can still stay in the league. It will not be an easy match. We have to go out there and show great desire and commitment to win the game as a team," Asike conveyed to Tusker FC media.

Despite the challenges posed by heavy rains affecting training sessions, Asike assures that the team is mentally and physically prepared to take on Nzoia.

Reflecting on their recent victory against Ulinzi Stars, Asike highlights the boost in confidence gained, which they aim to carry forward into the remaining matches of the season.

"The win against Ulinzi was really crucial because it has brought back the feel-good factor in the team, and we are looking forward to carrying that into the remaining seven matches of the season," Asike noted.

Tusker received a significant boost as key players Mike Oduor, David Odoyo, and Tom Teka resumed training after recovering from injuries, strengthening the squad for the crucial final matches.

Both Tusker and Nzoia have had ample time to prepare for the match, with Nzoia currently struggling at the bottom of the table.

Tusker's last match

Tusker's recent victory over Ulinzi Stars, with Eric Kapaito scoring the decisive goal, ended a two-match losing streak and reinvigorated their campaign.
