Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and a host of former Cabinet Secretaries have this afternoon condoled with the family of the former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha at his Nairobi home.

The former Head of State arrived at Magoha's Lavington home alongside ex-First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa.

Magoha died on Tuesday, January 24 after suffering a cardiac arrest at home.

In his condolence message after the announcement of the don's demise, Uhuru joined Kenyans in mourning Magoha describing him as a celebrated academic who leaves behind a strong legacy of public service.

Kenyatta in an emotional tribute to the late professor said he was a dear friend, wishing his family God’s comfort during their difficult period of grief. “It is unfortunate and painful that we’ve lost my friend Prof George Magoha at a time when his family is mourning his brother,” the former President said.

On his part, ODM Leader Raila Odinga eulogized the former cabinet secretary as a transformational leader, illustrious scholar, dedicated public servant, and distinguished medical doctor who left an indelible mark on our country's education system.

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. George Magoha, a transformational leader, illustrious scholar, dedicated public servant, and distinguished medical doctor who left an indelible mark on our country's education system," Raila's tweet read.
