Former Governor Wangamati lands plum job in Kajiado County

Former Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati has landed a job at the Kajiado County Investment Authority after he was appointed as the Chairperson of the seven-committee member team.

The team is mandated to advise and oversee key investment opportunities in the county.

Speaking when he unveiled the board members at the Kajiado headquarters on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku said the authority was geared towards managing investment opportunities from a Central point.

He also listed three key investment areas the team will spearhead which include; Food security and resilience for people and livestock, water provision for both domestic and agricultural use and affordable housing such as eco manyattas for rural communities.

Lenku described his appointees as a highly competent team that will help fast-track and exploit investment opportunities that will in turn boost development in the County.

Orange Democratic Movement's (ODM), Judy Pareno, who lost her senatorial bid in the August polls was also among those appointed.

Two chief officers serving in the Finance and Trade ministries are also among the board members. Others include William Mayian, Charles Ogada and Joel Kanchori .
