Wetang’ula group now vows to discipline ‘r****s’ over his ouster

The war in Ford Kenya escalated after the faction associated with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula vowed to institute disciplinary action against a group led by Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi and his Tongaren counterpart Eseli Simiyu who claim to be legitimate leaders of the party.
Wamunyinyi and Eseli last month staged a coup in the party and declared the replacement of the Wetang’ula faction.
Yesterday, Wetang’ula convened a meeting in which a resolution was reached two subject the two to disciplinary action.
But Wamunyinyi swiftly dismissed proceedings of the meeting chaired by Wetang’ula at Ford Kenya headquarters.
“Wetang’ula was the biggest mistake in our party’s history. How can people who have been dismissed purport to discipline bona fide party officials?
It is Wetang’ula who has been fighting to restrain us from disciplining him,” said Wamunyinyi.
“As far as we are concerned Wetang’ula is a former party leader. He should go away peacefully and with dignity like other previous leaders,” he added.
In their meeting, the Wetang’ula faction appointed Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka to arbitrate the dispute.
“The disciplinary committee of Hon Kemosi is a nullity since the meeting that formed it lacked quorum as declared by the registrar of political parties,” Eseli told People Daily further highlighting that the party’s internal dispute was far from over.
Earlier yesterday, Wetang’ula whom the Wamunyinyi group termed as facing disciplinary action by the party, hosted a meeting at Simba House and established an internal dispute resolution committee, which they intend to use to institute further punitive measures against alleged rebel members of Ford Kenya.
“As part of the resolution, the Committee adopted use of internal mechanisms through a dispute resolution committee that will be chaired by deputy party leader Hon. Richard Onyonka as directed by the Registrar of Political Parties to solve the current stalemate,” said Wetang’ula after the meeting.
But Eseli said the internal dispute resolution committee the Wetang’ula group had formed goes against the conservatory orders they obtained on Monday evening.
