AFC Leopards registered another Football Kenya Federation Premier League win after beating Muhoroni Youth 1-0 on Sunday.

This is the second win for Ingwe in the new year, and it will surely boost their morale as the second round gathers speed.

Jaffary Owiti scored the only goal of the game that was played at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

Despite late pressure from Muhoroni and some downpours, AFC Leopards managed to hold tightly onto their lead for a slim win.

Pamzo's bright start

Meanwhile, Shabana FC rewarded their new coach, Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo, with a win following a 5-2 victory over Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium.

Omollo was confirmed as the new head coach of the National Super League champions, who have been struggling since the season started. The former Kenya international started his reign at the Sugar Millers with not only the win but a victory that came following a spirited fight from his boys.

Tore Bobe outscored Nzoia Sugar following a hattrick from Justine Omwando and a brace from Mathew Tegisi.

The home side took the lead when Emmanuel Osoro scored in the 21st minute, before Omwando equalised for the visitors with a sublime strike just two minutes later.

Omwando propelled Shabana to the lead with his second before the teams broke for the halftime break. The second goal for the Sugar Millers was scored by Salim Murunga from the penalty spot as the second half began.

Omwando scored his hattrick in the 71st minute before the other two goals were netted by Tegesi to ensure Shabana picked up a morale-boosting win.

In other matches, Police FC overcame Bidco United by picking up a 1-0 victory, as  Tusker overpowered Sofapaka by claiming three points courtesy of a 3-1 victory.

Posta Rangers slide continued after they fell to a 1-0 loss to Nairobi City Stars. Simba wa Nairobi, under coach Nicholas Muyoti, have continued to show resilience, while the opposite can be said of the Mailmen, who were effective and solid in the opening 10 weeks of the season.

Elsewhere, FC Talanta collected three points following a 1-0 victory against Murang'a Seal. Seal is another team that is facing a downward trend despite starting the season brightly.

Finally, Ulinzi Stars and KCB shared points following a goalless stalemate at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang'ata.
