Bandari vice-chairman Twaha Mbarak has revealed his manifesto as he aims to contest for the Football Kenya Federation presidency in the upcoming elections.

Twaha is one of the first interested candidates who has made public their ambition of leading the FA ahead of the elections set to be held this year.

A recent meeting by FKF's national executive committee paved the way for the much-anticipated poll.

"I, Twaha Mbarak, officially announce my candidacy for the forthcoming Football Kenya Federation presidential race.

"My goal is to significantly alter the football landscape nationwide, ensuring a consistent supply of top players for the men's and women's national teams.

"We are ready to collaborate with all stakeholders in football to generate innovative ideas for improving the fortunes of our national teams internationally," Twaha said in a press statement.

More pledge

In Twaha's manifesto, grassroots football will be given attention and development support.

"We will appoint a new technical team to infuse our football with innovative ideas, providing the necessary support to reach new heights and ensure sustainability.

"Moreover, we plan to work closely with specialists to create efficient development frameworks for our age-grade national teams," he added.

Upgrading the referee's training is also going to be among the top priorities should he clinch the seat.

"To enhance our players' standards to competitive international levels, competent technical personnel are crucial. We have a plan to expedite the development of coaches, referees, match commissioners, and football experts, keeping them updated on the latest training techniques, playing styles, and game philosophy.

"Our aim is to align our trainers with the most advanced and modern training techniques," the statement added.

On matters touching the Premier League, Twaha will seek to have a fund that will help in the development of top-flight soccer.

"Additionally, we must strengthen the nation's premier league, facing challenges due to administrative flaws such as the lack of television coverage and foreign exposure. These issues hinder the promotion of the league and raise team standards.

"To fund our leagues and elevate them to appropriate levels of competition, we must increase our budget. I will seek the cooperation of all 47 county governments and corporate entities to acquire sponsorships for competitions at all levels," he continued.

Working with international bodies will also be a key governing principle for experienced football administrator.

"I will also establish a better working relationship with the World Football governing body, FIFA, the Continental Governing Body, CAF, and the regional governing body, CECAFA, through a wide array of exchange programs.

"Transparency and accountability will be the pillars of my administration," he concluded.
