Former Mathare United forward Dani Lual Gumnok has a dream of joining a top club in Europe.

The striker, who is currently playing for FK Blansko on loan from Vyskov FC in Czech Republic says he’s working hard towards achieving a dream he has had since his childhood.

“I have played in a number of leagues and gained good experience. Right now, I’m happy that I actually play abroad owing to the fact that I was a refugee a few years ago. Also, this tells you how talent can be powerful.

“Now, with this talent, I believe that I can scale up and achieve my dream. My dream is to feature for a good club in Europe,” Lual said.

He says he’s putting in the work with the hope of securing a call for trial from any notable European club where he says, given an opportunity, he would unleash his full potential for a substantive signing.

Prior to joining Vyskov FC from Mathare United, the South Sudanese player had unsuccessfully tried his luck in Spain where he had been called for trial by Valencia's junior side C.

He has also had a brief stint in the Ugandan Premier League.

It’s interesting to note that Lual spent most of his childhood at Kakuma refugee camp before he joined Atlabara FC and then Mathare United in July 2019.

At 19, he has defied all odds to shine for South Sudan U20, U23, and the country’s senior national team.

With experience from various leagues that include the Kenya Premier League, Lual believes that he is ripe for the future.

“My fans tell me I have talent and I agree with them. And I don’t want to disappoint them. If I get another opportunity, I’ll prove myself,” the forward said.
