Former Stars striker Waruru among 10 players dropped by KCB

Former Harambee Stars striker and local league golden boot winner Stephen Waruru is among 10 players who have been axed by Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Kenya Commercial Bank ahead of next season.

The Bankers handled by former Stars head coach Zedekiah Otieno Zico are keen to make a better mark in the top tier and with that comes the restructuring.

Waruru who joined the team at the beginning of the season is currently a free agent.

Others dropped by the team are former Kariobangi Sharks defenders Pascal Ogweno and Bolton Omwenga, ex-Ushuru FC forward Benson Amianda, Ugandan import Allan Owiny, Brian Olango, Gabriel Mugabo, Eston Esiye and Eric Otieno.

KCB who returned to the top flight two seasons ago are said to be eyeing Gor Mahia defensive pair of Joash Onyango and Charles Momanyi whose contracts have run out at K'Ogalo.
