Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has reminisced with fond memories of his summer break in Kenya which he says will forever be etched in his heart.

The 37-year-old spent most of his summer break traversing the African continent but it seems Kenya was his favourite destination as he posted in a photo where he was at Masai Mara that he could not wait to come back.

“The way I felt here is how I feel with my family back at home. We are all family, anyway. I’ll carry this experience, and all my other memories from Kenya and from this journey as a whole, in my heart forever,” Hamilton posted on his social media platforms.

Hamilton and other F1 drivers will return from their summer break on August 26 when the next Grand Prix is slated to take place in Belgium on August, 28.

During his trip to Kenya, the legendary driver chose to visit a lesser-known native community, the Pokot. The Pokot live in the West Pokot and Baringo counties in Kenya.

“I spent time with the Pokot people in Kenya and just to be in their presence was one thing, to be welcomed was something different entirely and a massive honour I don’t take lightly,” Hamilton reflected. Kenya has always been one of the ideal tourist destinations for celebrities worldwide.

They include supermodel Naomi Campbell, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, Football legend Samuel Eto’o, and Legendary coach José Mourinho, among others.

Hamilton becomes the latest celebrity added to the list of visitors. The Mercedes flagship driver was on a three-week long summer holiday.

Hamilton is a British racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Mercedes.

In Formula One, Hamilton has won a joint-record seven World Championship titles and holds the records for the most wins, pole positions and podium finishes, among others.
