Former champions Black Mamba, KDF, Kenyatta University (KU), and GSU, have labelled their Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) National Super Cup final group stage matches, a do-or-die affair, as they come face to face with each other in search of the remaining two slots for the semifinals.

KU is scheduled to take on GSU at Nyayo National Stadium, from 3 pm, but this will be after KDF and Black Mamba have settled their matchup, which is slated for 13:30, at the same venue.

KU who drew 1-1 with Strathmore last weekend, now need either a draw or a win against GSU, to sail through, while GSU, who lost 28-15 to the same Strathmore side, must beat KU to finish second and qualify in Pool A.

Meanwhile, KDF and Black Mamba both having lost to defending champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) 26-22 and 31-22 respectively, must outscore each other for either of them to finish second in Pool A to make it to the last four.

The champions, Cereals Men and runner’s up Strathmore, have already qualified after winning their respective Pool A and B preliminary matches, last weekend.

Today’s winner, between KU and GSU, will meet Cereals in the first semifinals tomorrow from noon while the winner between KDF and Black Mamba will take on Strathmore from 13:30, in the second semifinal.

In the women’s category, multiple league and regional East and Central Africa Handball Federation (ECAHF) champions, Nairobi Waters Queens, outplayed Nanyuki 37-17, and National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Women, 32-19, to inch closer to retaining their title, but will not be in action this weekend.
