The Subaru Leone of Sam Karagatha and Edward Nduku won the Training Rally organized by the Sikh Union Club over the weekend. The event, which was organized to encourage newcomers into the sport, attracted six entrants.

“We are really happy that the Sikh Union Club has taken the initiative to organise a clubman training rally, bringing in experienced organisers from the World Rally Championships (WRC) Safari Rally, with a goal of growing the sport at all levels. Our Subaru Leone 2WD has not seen much action this year, so it was great to be back at a rally, with Edward Ndukui co-driving. The 15km stage which was repeated 4 times was a challenging yet fun course and we are glad that we kept improving with each pass, to take a steady win. The organisers aimed to reduce costs by eliminating the recconaisance phase of the rally, as well as limiting servicing of vehicles. Thank you to all the organisers, competitors and spectators for a great event” said Karagatha.

Great event at revamping training rallys. Organisers took every step to ensure the event ran well and safe. Ambulances placed around the route with radio points. Also had the services of a fire truck on standby. A very warm and friendly environment with the crews and organisers. Exchange of ideas, suggestions and driving techniques. Sam Karangatha emerged the overall winner. Great drive by the youngsters.
