Kenyan air rifle and air pistol team, from the Kenya Sports Shooting Federation, yesterday departed  for the ISSF World Cup to be held in Changwon, Korea from June 6 to 27.

The team consists of only two athletes, Pricilla Wangui who will be competing in the air rifle category and counterpart Maurice Morara in the air pistol category.

Speaking after receiving kits from National Olympic Committee of Kenya, Priscilla, who was recently in Cairo, Egypt, where she met the minimum qualifying mark for the global event, expressed her gratitude to NOC-K and urged Kenyans to continue cheering and supporting them from home.

“We are heading there to benchmark and use it to gauge ourselves ahead of the qualification rounds for Paris 2024, which start in the next two months with World Championships in Egypt Cairo,” Wangui said.

The Kenya Police College instructor is happy at the level of development the sport had made locally, having hosted an International Practical Shooting Confederation level three event which is considered equivalent to the African Championships.
