Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, on Sunday, promised to revive Kenya's ailing sports sector if elected president in the August General Elections.

Speaking after a Kenya Premier League match between AFC Leopards and Nzoia FC on Sunday, Mudavadi said that the sports sector is of great importance to the youth and the country in general hence needs to be funded.

The ANC party leader further noted that the country is full of talent and sports should be used as a source of income to the youth.

"Kenya is full of talent. Growing sporting events will not only help in nurturing talents but also be a source of income for many of our youths. I recognize the important role sports plays and my administration will ensure an adequate budget towards this sector," Mudavadi said.

Mudavadi was joined by other leaders at Nyayo Stadium where the match took place. Some of the leaders who joined the former Vice President in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw included Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
