Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has received the backing of a section of stakeholders following the decision to turn down a request by Murang’a Seal to be represented by presidential aspirant Hussein Mohammed at the FKF’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) slated for Saturday, despite not being registered as the club’s official.

On Monday, FKF through CEO Barry Otieno declared the Extreme Sports CEO ineligible to attend and represent the promoted outfit after a scrutiny of registration proceduress.

“Following a comprehensive review of the registration documents and other details thereof regarding Murang’a Seal submitted in compliance with Article L02 and L03 of the FKF Club lincensing Regulations and Article 54 and 55 of the CAF men’s club lincensing regulations (2022) attached for your reference, we would like to inform you that Hussein Mohammed is nor registered with FKF as a member of Murang’a Seal or FKF general, in accordance with Article 11 of the FKF constitution (2017)and Article 8.1.4 of the FKF regulations governing Kenyan football (2019),” confirmed the letter from Otieno.

The statement concluded by saying: “In light of the aforementioned, Hussein Mohammed is therefore ineligible to represent Murang’a Seal in the upcoming FKF Annual General Meeting.”

Presidential aspirant Omondi Aduda said FKF were right to take the decision because they are the custodians of all club records and know every official of each and every club in their respective leagues.

“It is what it is and nothing will change, FKF have every single record for all of the teams affiliated with them, they keep records and always keep refreshing them in every single season and so if Hussein (Mohammed) has not been registered as Murang’a Seal official, then he has no business attending the AGM,” said Aduda, who previously served as the FKF CEO.

“The laws are very clear, FKF are acting under the laws, it not malice (that Mohammed is ineligible to attend the meeting), it is what they have in their records, and it is high time people respected the FKF laws, and the letter from the CEO is self-explanatory.”

Another presidential aspirant Sam Nyamweya said: “As much as I don’t have respect for the current FKF regime because of how they have been running the sport, their decision must be respected because they followed the law. Only FKF members are allowed to attend an AGM and if records indicate you are not one of them, then it is good to keep off.”

A top official affiliated with Mohammed’s team maintained that the administrator will attend the meeting with or without the blessing of FKF.
