The impending move by Gor Mahia defender Joash Onyango to Tanzanian giants Simba is riddled with uncertainty over age issues.

Onyango must have shot himself on the foot after he spotted a new look by dying his beard white last year ahead of last year's Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, and the photo is currently making rounds in the social media in Tanzania thus making Simba fans to depict him as too old to join the team.

Sources within Simba said the club’s officials who were close to seal Onyango's deal on Tuesday afternoon, later had thoughts after seeing the photo and are now weighing options since a section of fans comparing him with the team's aging defender Pascal Wawa who looked fragile after the resumption of their league.

The officials are doing so even as it became clear that Simba fans are vocal on which player should join the Jangwani-based team.

Before the development, Onyango was close to securing a move to the Tanzanian champions as Gor struggled to keep star players due to financial challenges.

Onyango was owed a lot of money by Gor and had put in a demand letter to them that went unanswered.

He then served notice as is required and commenced negotiations with Simba who have always been interested with his services.
