Harambee Stars defender Joash Onyango is a wanted man given his exploits with Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club and as such a fee of Sh100 million has been slapped for whoever is interested in his services.

The former Gor Mahia centre back has had a marvellous two seasons and last month was awarded the Player of the Month for his club beating book favourites Luís Miquissone and Aisha Manula.

Onyango also known as Berlin Wall, has been praised  is for his effective and no-nonsense approach that has helped his side get into the money bracket of the CAF Champions League quarter finals this season.

Simba spokesperson Hajji Manara has warned other clubs that Onyango will only leave at the right price and mentioned the price of $1 million (Sh100 Million).

This is coming after South African Giants Orlando Pirates showed interest in the defender.

“Let me tell you a secret, one of the Orlando Pirates managers called me to ask about the price of Onyango and I joked not less than one million dollars. He has reached that level.

A player who has been voted the best centre back in the CAF Champions League, what is his worth? What of the price tags of players like Miquissone, Manula and Chama?” posed the outspoken Manara?

Simba finished ahead of African club football giants Al Ahly by two points in Group A in this year’s CAF Champions League with a total of 13 points. Onyango, 28, was named in the CAF Champions League team of the week in late February after Match Day Two when Simba SC stunned Al Ahly 1-0 in Dar es Salaam.

Meanwhile, word from Simba Sports Club is that Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi is being floated as a replacement for Aisha Manula who is increasingly getting attention from a couple of continental bigwigs.
