AFC Leopards stormed into their second successive win and the first in three years over Kakamega Homeboyz in a 2-1 win result at Bukhungu Stadium yesterday.

Goals from Clyde Senaji and Elvis Rupia in the opening half ensured Allan Wanga’s effort was not enough for Homeboyz with title contenders Ingwe solidifying their third position with 25 points.

Ingwe was bossed in the first half for long periods with Eugene Mukangula, Marvin Nabwire dictating play from the midfield with their high pressing and good passing with Rupia constantly tormenting the opposing defenders.

Leopards’ defender Clyde Senaji opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a header with the Homeboyz goalkeeper David Juma left for dead. The well-placed cross came through Caleb Olilo who escaped his markers down the right.

Rupia who had been busy finally found his footing turning in between two players and releasing a hard shot in the 26th minute for the second goal to give Ingwe a comfortable lead.

Tactical changes in personnel and system by coach Nicholas Muyoti was not to be enough with Leopards tightening the back especially with the entry of holding midfielder Said Tsuma.
