FKF Premier League side Sofapaka have confirmed the departure of head coach Ken Odhiambo after 15 months in charge.

Odhiambo joined the 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions towards the close of 2020 from Bandari FC where he was also serving in the same capacity.

In a club statement released on Wednesday, Sofapaka said,“ Sofapaka FC would like to announce that we have parted ways with the Head Coach Mr Ken Odhiambo on mutual agreement. Mr David Ouma has been elevated to the position of the head coach with immediate effect.

The club would like to thank coach Ken Odhiambo for his time with Sofapaka FC and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.

In the interim, the club will continue the fight to end the season in the top 5 of the league.

The president and the club will make further announcements about the issue in due course.”

The former Kenya international took charge of Batoto ba Mungu after the club fired club legend John Baraza who then joined FKF Cup semi-finalists Equity Bank FC.

New coach David Ouma, in his second stint at the club, will be tasked with seeking maximum points from Ken Kenyatta’s Talanta FC when the league resumes this weekend.

Ouma will be assisted by Wyllis Obayi and Sunil Shah.
