Title hopefuls Coastal Heroes FC and Naivas FC will face strong opponents at home this weekend in their own backyards as the exciting National Super League enters Round 10.

Naivas who are seventh on table standings host third-placed Migori Youth FC at Camp Toyoyo tomorrow. They have been a bit inconsistent in recent times with two wins in five matches and are currently on 11 points off seven matches. At mid-week, Migori tied 0-0 with Mara Sugar FC at home and will want to keep their solid run on the up even as they enjoy a five-match unbeaten run and are now on 13 points.

Incidentally, Naivas has won all three of the last meetings between the pair. There has been no shortage of goals in these matches with the last trio of match-ups yielding 14 goals in total. Naivas’s last meeting ended also in a goalless result away at Gusii FC and will be keen to get better results and hopefully keep their 100% record against the border side.

Meanwhile, high-flying Shabana is away to fourth-placed Coastal Heroes at Mbaraki Stadium in a tussle expected to be electrifying. League leaders Shabana are enjoying a sweet run and have 22 points in the bag off eight matches with a healthy + 12 goal difference after a stellar start to the campaign which has seen them yet to lose a match. Shabana beat Kajiado FC 3-1 in Nairobi at midweek to open a five-point gap at the top while Heroes who are on 13 points lost by a mammoth 4-1 at Ligi Ndogo last weekend to move to second on the standings.

Interestingly both clubs share a 2-2 win aggregate in their last four meetings which makes this duel even more exciting.

Elsewhere, fifth-placed Murang’a Seal faces strugglers Vihiga United away at Mumias Sports Complex tomorrow. The westerners are yet to win a match in six games and are currently languishing in a disappointing 16th place.

Both teams drew in their recent games against Migori Youth and MCF and certainly there could be a change of strategy by the respective technical coaches on different ends.

Seal as of today has 12 points against Vihiga’s paltry 3. On paper, the former would seem to have an edge over the hosts in this match-up even if their recent meetings have yielded a 1-1 tie in win results with both picking 2-0 victories in consequent games last season.

In other games, Mombasa Elite FC and Kisumu Allstars FC meet tomorrow at Mbaraki Sports Club. Tenth placed Lakeside team have had an inconsistent run and so far has amassed nine points off six matches with their result being a 2-0 advantage against SS Assad. As for 15th-placed Elite who have yet to win in seven matches, their struggles are real and the coastal lads have only collected three points thus far. Mara Sugar FC also host MCF at Awendo Stadium on Sunday with the hope that home-ground advantage will count for something while SS Assad who is 12th on the log welcomes newbies Kajiado FC at Shamu Grounds in Ukunda, Kwale County.
