Will the Ngong Road trio of Impala Saracens, Homeboyz and Nondescripts taste a win before the Christmas break is the key question in all local rugby banter platforms following successive three-match losing streak for each of the sides who are this Saturday expected to launch their A game in the fourth round of the Kenya Cup.

As the trio is in search of a first win in the 12-team league, their neighbours and rival Kenya Harlequin are in search of their fourth straight win after bagging three against Impala, Nondescripts and MMUST for a total of 13 points on the league standings where the side is currently perched fourth.

Harlequin will, however, be treading with caution on home ground for their third-cum-final Ngong Road derby until the play-offs state otherwise.

Quins host Homeboyz at 3pm in a match scheduled to test the hosts to their limit following changes on the Deejays starting line-up and hunger to win and maintain current winning status against the hosts in the 15s version of the game following back-to-back wins before the pandemic took a toll of the game.

Aware of the threat the home side will bring up on the table, the visitors’ head coach Simon Odongo has made a total of seven changes that will see front rower Thomas Okidia now fit to start alongside fellow prop Abel Matanda.

The starting line up will also include Kenya Sevens star Jeff Oluoch as the outside centre with captain Zedden Marrow just returned to start at one of the wings as the main highlights.

The Quins head coach Amady Diallo has made six changes to his starting with former Kabras centre Johnstone Mungau starting his first game alongside former Nondies winger Ivan Chebo who just  earned his second straight start while the other wing will be manned by former Mean Machine ace Charles Kinyanjui.

Impala Saracens will need to kick off on the right foot on home ground against last season runners up Kabras Sugar who have won on both home and away soil to lead the standings and will be geared to maintain unbeaten status.

Meanwhile, Nondies will hope to match Strathmore Leos in the major departments for a chance to pick first win against the students who have shocked Impala, Nakuru and Mwamba with comfortable wins.

The last two fixtures will see MMUST host Oilers in Kakamega while Mwamba will play KCB at Impala grounds.
