CBK player Musumba face off with Olumasi for Busia branch volleyball body chairmanship elections

Former General Service Unit player, Bernard Musumba and Western Region Organising Secretary, Gerald Olumasi will battle it out for the chairmanship of the Kenya Volleyball
Federation Busia branch.

Musumba who now plays for the Central Bank of Kenya and Olumasi has exuded confidence in carrying the day in the elections whose date will be announced by the national body.

The Secretary position has attracted two contestants, Deputy Headteacher at Lupida Secondary School, Charles Okanya and his counterpart at Nambale Primary, David Tati.

The principal of Katira Secondary, Andrew Collins Mutanda is unopposed as the First Vice person, same for former national volleyball player, Janet Amuke who is unopposed as vice chair Gender.

Kamarc VC former player, James Ekapel is unopposed as organizing secretary.

Mary Nafula, a teacher at Apokor Secondary in Teso South is unopposed as treasurer while DIVAS VC player, Brigit Wasike is unopposed as vice secretary with Nangina Girls coach Boniface Obwogo unopposed as Deputy Organising secretary.

Meanwhile, there has been uncertainty about the eagerly awaited Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) elections.

The branch elections, which were to be contested under counties' rule were put o indefinitely after a meeting on Saturday.

Federation secretary general Ben Juma said most of the branches have not complied with the Sports Act 2013 and the registration of the newly amended constitution is yet to be done.

“Branches are hereby advised not to hold any elections due to several reasons that are beyond the federation,” said Juma.
