Runyenjes Member of Parliament Muchangi Karemba has urged the Akorino believers to vote for Kenya Kwanza flag bearer William Ruto for president to pave way for the community’s turn.

Muchangi said that he will consider running for president after Ruto and that once he becomes president (after Ruto), the welfare of Akorino believers will be well taken care of.

He further sent the congregation to laughter when he said that he had thought Ruto had picked him as a running mate because he had been summoned to the Deputy President’s Karen residence shortly before Rigathi Gachagua was announced as the Kenya Kwanza running mate.

"You know before Deputy President William Ruto made the announcement for his running mate, he had called me that morning to attend and I first thought it was going to be me,” Karemba said amid laughter by the congregation.

Manyatta Member of Parliament aspirant Gitonga Mukunji supported the move saying that he will campaign for Muchangi when that time comes.

"I will be MP for Manyatta constituency those years when Karemba will be seeking the presidency and I promise that I will support him," he said.

Embu UDA gubernatorial candidate Cecily Mbarire also said Ruto was the only sure bet for the region in the upcoming general election.

She also blasted Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya candidates saying they were hesitant in printing campaign materials bearing the name of their presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
