Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance principal assistant Martha Karua has defended Rail Odinga's old age terming it a sign of maturity and potential to serve Kenyans.

Speaking at Kajiado on Monday, July 25th, 2022, Karua told Kajiado residents to ignore opponents' cheap propaganda that Raila is too old to be the 5th President of Kenya.

She instead urged residents of Kajiado to consider Raila's track record of defending Kenyans at large during his time in government and while in the opposition and reward him by voting for him.

Karua further referred to the late President Mwai Kibaki performance record while he was aged saying it transformed the country positively and immensely revived the economy.

"If you are told Raila is old, yes he is old. He is politically mature and well organized. There comes a time that a country needs a mature and sober leader who has a cool temperament," Karua said.

Karua says Raila is committed to service

She said Raila's loyalty and commitment to service have been tested during his time as the opposition leader because he remained consistent in fighting for the voiceless and advocating for democracy.

"I urge you to evaluate an individual's track record. Raila is not a land grabber and that is why in land grabbing cases that some people cannot miss he has never been mentioned. Others are just giving empty promises. Leadership is about action and not lip service. Vote for Raila, and avoid leaders who seek to oppress Kenyans. Action speaks louder than words," Karua added.

She said the Raila Odinga-led government will ensure inclusivity, fight corruption and facilitate Kenyan welfare.

"We will revive the country's economy and bring down the cost of living. Our government is for all including our opponents. We will take care of all Kenyans and at the same time we all should brave stringent corruption measures," Karua added.

Karua was accompanied by Azimio allied candidates in Kajiado including Jubilee David Nkedianye and Moses Ole Sakuda eying the governor and senator seats respectively.

The Azimio team addressed rallies at Ilng'osuani village, Kajiado, Isinya and Kitengela towns.
