Martha Karua has expressed optimism that the Supreme Court will rule in the favour of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance in regard to the petition filed challenging the presidential results.

Karua stated that the petition against IEBC's announcement of William Ruto as the President-Elect is watertight.

She stated that the Azimio faction has collected enough and overwhelming evidence that will see IEBC's decision to declare Ruto the 5th President of Kenya overturned.

"Our petition is watertight and the evidence is overwhelming," she posted on Facebook.

Karua expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will uphold the rule of law and that justice will be served.

"We are assured that the Supreme Court will uphold the rule of law, and justice will be served," she added insisting that the petition was between IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and the Kenyan voters who cast their votes on August 9.

Kananu echoes Karua

Outgoing Nairobi County governor Anne Kananu expressed the same sentiments stating that Kenyans will finally be served with justice after their wishes at the ballot were subverted by the commission.

"We are confident that the Supreme Court of Kenya will render justice to the millions of Kenyans who lined up to exercise their democratic will only for it to be subverted by one man Wafula Chebukati and his kangaroo commission. The will of Kenyans will reign supreme," she wrote on her Facebook.
