Roots party presidential flagbearer Prof. George Wajackoyah has pledged to shut down research firm Infotrak after missing out on the survey just released.

Infotrak on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, released the results of its survey which indicated that Raila leads in the opinion poll with a 42 per cent lead against Ruto who came second with 38 per cent in the popularity race.

Wajackoyah was nowhere to be seen in the survey as his popularity was so negligible the research firm opted to include him among 'other' candidates.

The Roots party presidential hopeful expressed anger at Infotrak survey vowing to shut down the research firm if elected President.

"I don't like that company (Infotrak) and when I become the President if I found out that it has violated the constitution of the people of Kenya by not really doing what Kenyans want I will send them packing," he said while speaking to a local TV station.

Wajackoyah agrees with Ruto

The Roots party presidential candidate echoed Deputy President William Ruto's claim that Infotrak's survey was not factual, adding that the research firm would have attracted the ire of the public if they were in the UK.

"Let me tell you this, I am a lawyer of very high repute and I just don't practise in Kenya only. I practise in the US, I practise in the UK and am also a practitioner in the European Human Rights Court. If those people (Infotrak) were in UK public opinion would have prevailed against them. Voters would have questioned the integrity as to why they only choose those two (Raila and Ruto). In the UK you choose everybody, you put everybody even if someone gets a zero," Wajackoyah said.

He added that:

"They (Infotrak) are notoriously known to be side takers and that's why in this one I would agree with the Deputy President for the first time for having rubbished them. They should actually be on notice that there is a new player on the block who takes no nonsense but take Kenyans' interest at heart."

Ruto while speaking during a tour of North Eastern counties on Wednesday claimed that the results were not factual.

"Because they are stuck, their system is stuck, deep state and their manifesto are also stuck, they have gone to manufacture opinion polls to show them the way. I want to tell Kenyans that we have defeated these people in every way. We have beaten them with our plan and manifesto. We shall win in the morning on August 9," he said.
