Policemen arrested transporting bhang in DCI vehicle

In October last year, three police officers were arrested transporting a consignment of bhang and other contraband goods in a police vehicle at Kanyonyoo area along the Thika – Garissa highway.

The three male police officers were arrested by a multi-agency security team that had mounted a roadblock in that section of the road.

Two of the officers were from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) department in Wajir County while one was from regular police.

The three were traveling in a pick-up truck belonging to the DCI office in Wajir County.

When their vehicle was searched, 245kgs of bhang, 150kgs of contraband sugar, another 325kgs of government rice and several liters of cooking oil were confiscated.

The arrested were initially detained at Kanyonyoo Police Post but later transferred to Kyusyani Police.
