Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi is set to be unveiled as the Democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate at Bomas of Kenya today.

Muturi will be seeking to battle it out with other hopefuls seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta among them Deputy President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.

Already, hundreds of DP delegates have convened at Bomas in Nairobi for the event where a major declaration is expected to be made and which has been mentioned as one that will change the country's political landscape.

The convention comes days after Muturi promised to kick off major presidential campaign tours across the country.

Muturi who has been meeting with grassroots leaders and opinion makers will be seeking to represent the party that was formed in 1991 by former President Mwai Kibaki and John Keen upon the repealing of Section 2A of the constitution at the country's top leadership in the wake of major political realignments across the political spectrum.
