Days to the long-awaited Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference that is slated to happen next week between February 25 and 26, the party officials and members have heightened meet-the-people tours to reassure its strength and agendas for the country going forward.

The party that has been facing rebellion from parliamentarians allied to Deputy President William Ruto yesterday evening moved to President Uhuru Kenyatta's home turf where they reassured locals that the party is set to have major stakes in the next government.

Parliamentarians who spoke at Mutomo Primary School where President Kenyatta casts his vote stated that while the Head of State has been rallying leaders across the political divide to unite, his deputy has openly become defiant and continues to lead a parallel faction within his administration.

Led by Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo, the legislators particularly took issue with the Second in Command for fighting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) that was set to increase the allocation of resources for more infrastructural developments in Mt Kenya.

They maintained that there's need for Mt Kenya residents and leaders to support the ruling party to ensure the region is not left in the political cold as other parts of the country enjoy being in government.

"Even if we don't have a presidential candidate in the upcoming polls, our party has to remain in government for our people to be safe. They continue to state that our party is dead but that is neither here nor there. We have been at work and that is how Kenya has developed this far," he said.

At the same time, the politicians among them Kiambu Deputy Governor Joyce Ngugi and Gatundu North MP Wanjiku Kibe acclaimed President Uhuru Kenyatta for initiating developments in the region to better the economic livelihoods of locals.

They said that besides roads, the Head of State has eased the lives of Kenyans through lighting projects, devolving government services among other developments.

Before the NDC, President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to meet leaders from Mt Kenya region who support the party at Sagana in the much-hyped Sagana 3 meeting.
