Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has assured ODM Leader Raila Odinga of the Ukambani vote.

Speaking after a series of Azimio rallies in Machakos County, the county head exuded confidence that the Ukambani region will vote for the former premier to the last man.

Ngilu stated that it is no longer a question whether Raila will bag the Ukambani vote but if there is a vote base that will outperform the region come August 9th.

"This is Athiriver today in Machakos. It’s no longer if Ukambani will vote for Raila Odinga, the question is which region can actually beat Ukambani turnout for Baba in the August polls. Nyanza you have been put on notice," she posted.

The ODM Leader was today joined by Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Kitui's Charity Ngilu as he took his political overtures to Machakos county residents.

Raila's visit of the Ukambani region comes against the backdrop of an attempt to lure Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka into the Azimio train.

The OKA principal, who is the defacto Ukambani kingpin, is said to have tabled several conditions before he fully commits to a political coalition with his erstwhile political ally. Political observers however opine that Raila can depend on the three Ukambani governors to bag a huge chunk of the region's vote.
