Nyaribo, Omogeni clash on graft report

Nyamira governor Amos Nyaribo has differed with his Senator Okong’o Omogeni over alleged corruption cases which were exposed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) three weeks ago.

Nyaribo in a scathing attack against the senator, accused Omogeni of using the report to soil his name by peddling falsehood that he was the man perpetuating corruption in the county.

Addressing journalists in his office yesterday, he stated that the report has not mentioned his name that he was part of corruption ring as Omogeni was claiming.   “This senator, who has never stepped into my office and the county Assembly where he has a seat, to verify corruption claims is using funeral forums to condemn and castigate me without apparent reason,” he stated.

Responding Omogeni said that Nyaribo was purely to blame over the corruption cases which have riddled the county. He claimed that due to corruption,there are no drugs in health facilities in the county.
