Deputy President William Ruto has brokered a deal to have ex-Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Labour Patrick Ntutu run as the sole UDA gubernatorial candidate after Narok West MP Gabriel Tongoyo and Women Representative Soipan Tuya stepped down in favour of Ntutu .

He will now face off with Narok North MP Mointalel Ole Kenta, who will be flying the ODM ticket under Azimio la Umoja movement.

“I salute leaders from Narok County for embracing consensus as a way of identifying contenders for the various seats in the county in the upcoming UDA nominations," DP Ruto said.

He added: “Congratulations Hon Patrick Ntutu following your endorsement by your colleagues and supporters to run for the seat of governor for Narok County.”

Ntutu expressed his happiness and thanked the two for shelving their ambitions promising to work diligently for the people of Narok if elected on August 9.

"I wish to convey profound humility and deepest gratitude to my two colleagues for having ceded their ambitions for my candidature by consensus. This is a rise to the spirit of nationhood for the greater good of our party UDA, the people of Narok and our great country. Thank you and congratulations on your sacrifice!" his statement read.
